Under Painting

This is the underpainting for a Studio version of "Ranchers Gate".I first captured (I hope) this powerful scene just outside Ouray Colorado, on a September morning, during a www.pleiairsouthwest.com paintout. O.k. Im not the first to paint an alley, but this one, I felt was asking for it. The folks coming out of the landromat i was standing next to seemed confused-go figure

Just on the edge of town there are many pastures for the horses to graze. Alphalfa-delicious !
