This is a larger studio painting I recently finished.
Every so often, when your out scouting for locations, you see the completed painting in your mind before you even set up your easel. Such was the case with this one-i couldnt wait to get at it! I hope i captured it well enough to share it with you. 
This piece painted at a location along the Mississippi, that i return to several times a year. It Always seems to offer something different each time. Nature is not redundant, in my opinion-tune in...and paint!
We are not in New Mexico anymore! I just liked the contrast here of the fallen tree versus the background, light , shadow, and snow!-lets paint!
This one was painted near the end of my residency in New Mexico. The Organ Mountains are a spectacular view as you drive from White Sands towards Las Cruces.
This was the largest studio piece i did in New Mexico, based on a small study done just past sunset (o.k. it was actually getting dark) and some photo reference.Although the day was warm, the desert cools considerably as the sun fades behind the Sacremento Mountains.
